Our History
Morgan Community Support & Solutions was founded in December 2020 by a group of Morgan High School alumni. We started with the desire to make sustainable impacts to the community that raised them. In the first year of our operations, we learned how to organize ourselves into an active nonprofit organization that could start making impacts within the county as a whole. Our roots being in MoCo, we believe that working with the Morgan community should define the work we do and where our focuses lie.
Our initial project work in 2021 included food donation drives, trash clean-ups, a community garden in Chesterhill, OH., and our first Thrive Drive. Through this work, we created our three project areas: MoConnect, Clean MoCo, and the Morgan Food Project. In 2022, we offered our first summer internship opportunities and scholarships to Morgan High Schools interested in professionally developing themselves. In 2023, we obtained our federal 501(c)3 tax-exempt status and completed our first fundraising campaign. We continued this work into 2024, offering our first fall internship opportunities. And as we mark our 5th anniversary in 2025, we strive to continue building upon our previous work and implementing new projects in line with our org’s mission and vision.
As we look to the future, we aim to foster a dedicated network of professionals with the shared goal of improving Morgan County. Utilizing our connections, resources, and projects, we look to revitalize the Morgan community through efforts that are both targeted and sustainable. Being an organization that is truly by and for MoCo, we’re thrilled to continue working within the Morgan Community to make this vision come to life.

MoConnect
The MoConnect project provides several different services at the Morgan community and MLSD level with the goal of reinforcing the county’s professional and educational infrastructure. This work includes community educational outreach, internships with Morgan High School students, and collaborations with our community partners.
Whether its encouraging local residents to vote, working with an intern on a business spotlight, or showing up with a table at a career day, MoConnect works to strengthen our community infrastructure and make it easier for our citizen’s voices to be heard.
Clean Moco
Our Clean MoCo project area aims to beautify the Morgan Community through environmentally sustainable practices. This is primarily achieved through our periodic trash clean-ups on our adopted highway routes within the county. Our Clean MoCo work is a perfect way to get involved and volunteer with our organization!
Morgan Food Project
Our Morgan Food Project service area works to identify and tackle the problems associated with Morgan County’s food systems. We accomplish this through direct collaboration with local organizations that are also addressing food insecurity. Our community garden efforts provide plots for interested residents to utilize and provides fresh produce donations to local drop-off locations for anyone to access. We also coordinate food donation drives as well as non-food essentials item, the “Thrive Drive,” for our local food pantry.
